In celebration of the life of a dear husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. Peter passed away in July 2011, after a brave battle against pulmonary fibrosis. A selfless hero who set a shining example to us all. He is greatly missed. Written below is a poem dedicated to Pete's wife, Annette, a very special lady, whose tireless care of Pete meant that he was able to fulfil his wishes and remain at home, surrounded by his family and friends: Dear Annette Thank you for meeting Pete And for making his life complete Devotion without compare He always knew that you were there Open door to all who came Smiling face, despite the pain And now his pain is at an end But your heart feels it will never mend The days they pass and life goes on But you are weary, no longer strong Perhaps in time your grief will fade And life will fill the vacuum made And somewhere from, we know not where Pete will watch with love and care For the love you have will never part Entwined around each others’ hearts And may the sorrow in time grow less And happy memories fill its place With Love 13th July 2011 (Sue Lawrie - Pete's sister)
